I've been working on some pseudo-sequels to a story from Prize Winners. There will be three new pieces, making a four-part little saga. The thing is, I don't think anyone could guess what story I'm writing the follow-ups to. My wife guessed on her first try and I figured if anyone would it was her, but I'd be surprised if anyone else could. So, I thought I'd hold a little contest: You have until next Tuesday, July 24 to leave a comment guessing which story is getting the "sequel treatment." If you guess right I will make you a handmade chapbook with all four stories.
So get guessing!
(oh, and you get two guesses. no more than that. there are 18 stories in the book. good luck.)

All In One Place
The Alaska story collection is still pulling down rejections. Still trying to figure out other places to try with it. I've been sending the thing out for two years now, and in that time have added additional stories ('cause why not?!). Like any good masochistic writer I still believe. While all the stories that are online are linked in the "Published" tab, they aren't designated as being a part of the collection. So, I thought I'd just create a list here:
"THE LONG GRASS"
"LIKE SWIMMING"
"EVERYTHING RETURNED"
"ALL THINGS INFINITE"
"THE PIT BULL'S TOOTH"
"HOCKEY MOM"
"TRENCH SWIMMER"
"WEST"
"MODEL HOME"
Also, THIS is just madness.

Little Things To Tide You (& Me) Over
I don't often feel the need to write essays. Recently I did. It's called "There Is No Sterility Parenting" and it is up at THE GOOD MEN PROJECT.
Kat Dixon has posted a few of the unused covers I designed for her book, Temporary Yes. CHECK 'EM OUT.
I read a snippet of a new Kristen Orser poem. LISTEN.
